Hardy The Knockabout 9-10ft Fly Rod

HARDY “THE KNOCKABOUT” PALAKONA 9'6" SPLIT CANE TROUT FLY ROD + ORIGINAL BAG

In very nice condition and in full working order. A classic Hardy “The Knockabout” 9'6" Palakona split cane trout fly rod, a highly attractive traditional Hardy model with all the character expected from their Alnwick-made cane rods.

The rod is nice and straight with tight suction ferrule joints and is finished with green silk whippings and intermediates, together with a clear agate butt ring. The cane, fittings, rings and whippings all present very well, making this a particularly appealing example for either fishing or collecting.

The Knockabout is one of Hardy's recognised traditional trout fly rods and is often referred to as the Halford Knockabout, with the 9'6" model being a classic length for traditional loch, river and wet-fly fishing. Complete with its original Hardy rod bag.

A lovely example of a classic Palakona trout rod which remains ready to fish.

Please study all of the photographs carefully as they show the exact condition of the cane, ferrules, handle, rings, whippings, intermediates and original rod bag.
