Sage XP 690-4 9-10ft 6 weight Fly Rod

A very nice Sage XP 690-4 fly fishing rod, measuring 9ft and rated for a #6 line.

This is the 4-piece Graphite IIIe model from Sage’s highly regarded XP range. The rod is clearly marked XP 690-4 Graphite IIIe, #6 Line, 9’0”, 3 3/16 oz.

The Sage XP series became extremely popular with serious fly anglers for its crisp, powerful action and excellent line speed. The 9ft #6 version is a particularly versatile rod, well suited to river, reservoir and stillwater trout fishing, as well as situations where a little extra power is useful for larger flies or breezier conditions.

This example is in very good used condition. The dark green blank presents very well overall, with the guides and whippings appearing sound and tidy. The cork handle shows some normal signs of use, as would be expected on a used rod of this age, but remains in good overall condition. The reel seat and fittings also present well.
