Shimano Triple X 14-15ft Not applicable Match Rod

shimano Triple X 14 ft 420 Splice - Tip Match/Float Rod , Made in Japan! Ultra Rare Mint condition rod . This model was introduced in 1988 to early 90s at a cost back then of £170!!!
A sublime rod that’s a delight to use on the Stream . With superb balance and feel, and the whole rod weighs in at just 185 grams!

The rod is finished in an amazing brown colour lacquered blank which incorporates an amazingly aesthetic cross wrap , hence the name triple X.
The rod rings are Fuji Sic double legged through out , with black whipping finished with gold ending. Even the reel seat aluminium slide bands are anodised in an amazing copper colour which contrast superbly with the rod . The splice tip blends seamlessly into the rod.
A truly amazing design that really characterises the whole rod / generation! All stunning made in Japan by Shimano.

The whole rod is still in mint condition after all these years having had minimal use with great care! Just look at the overfit joints they are immaculate! As is the whole rod.
The original rod bag did soon get replaced because although it was nicely protecting the rod with its ultra softness, it was more absorbent than a sponge!
So does come in a partitioned rod bag but not original to the rod.

This is a very rare and quite exceptional rod now and well worth its price tag!

The rod will be securely packed in a heavy duty tube.
